Dear friends and Colleagues,
We are delighted to invite you to the 14th World Congress on Controversies in Neurology, to be held in London, UK, March 26-29, 2020. Following a hugely successful CONy 2019 held in Madrid, Spain, with over 1,100 delegates from more than 70 countries, our upcoming CONy 2020 in London promises to be CONy’s biggest and brightest yet. What makes CONy stand out compared to other medical congresses are the differences in structure and focus. Conferences are generally informative, but there is often only limited time for thorough and critical discussions. CONy provides a platform for international experts to discuss and compare experiences, thus closing the gap between the expansion of knowledge and its dissemination and use. By having this debate style structure, the congress has become a major annual event for members of the neurological community. The popularity and increasing relevance of the topics and debates explored during this annual congress has bore many other offshoot meetings, focused on various topics. All our participants are encouraged to take an active role in the Congress by engaging faculty members in an open and unique environment, submitting abstracts for oral and poster presentations, and voting on debates in each session. We do hope you will join us for this high level educational Congress and excellent networking opportunity. We look forward to welcoming you to CONy 2020 in London, UK!
With best wishes,
Amos Korczyn (Israel), Chairman
Victoria Gryb (Ukraine), CONy ambassador
Medicine is a controversial science. It is constantly evolving, knowledgeably deepened, supplied by up-to-date information. Therefore, new understanding of the causes and consequences of pathological processes is emerging. Modern medical science poses a lot of questions to the doctor. By looking for answers to them we involve modern methods of diagnosis, new knowledge, clinical research results, and expertise from around the world. But answering some questions we are faced with the new more complex ones.
Neurologists have to answer these questions every day. Doctors make decisions based on their knowledge, personal experience, results of clinical trials and their persuasiveness. But the results of the trials are often quite controversial.
That is why the opportunity to solve such controversial questions form the main thesis of the world congress "Controversies in neurology" (CONy) 13 years ago in the modern medical information space.
The organizers of the congress proposed an entirely new innovative format for holding scientific sections which are debates. Most controversial issues are chosen for consideration. Selected speakers present opposite views on each issue. Participants have the opportunity not only to hear the opinions and arguments of distinguished experts but also to express personal attitudes to the topic of the discussion during the voting after each debate.
"Controversies in Neurology" congress (CONy) is changing the approach to obtaining and interpreting modern medical information which makes it more objective, interactive and practical.
History of CONy
The First World Congress "Contraversion in Neurology" was held in Berlin in September 2007. During the next 13 years, the geography of congresses has expanded, and the number of delegates has increased severalfold. The innovative format of the congress attracts the attention of specialists from all over the world. We are very pleased that Ukrainian doctors are joining the CONY community.
